Conflict of Interest Policy
Jurnal Kesehatan Yatsi Madani requires authors, reviewers, editors, and other individuals involved in the publication process to disclose any financial or non-financial interests that could influence, or reasonably be perceived to influence, the research, peer review, or editorial decision-making process.
A conflict of interest does not automatically invalidate research or prevent publication. However, all relevant interests must be disclosed transparently and managed appropriately to maintain the integrity, objectivity, and credibility of scholarly publishing.
Authors
Authors must disclose any relevant financial or non-financial interests when submitting a manuscript. These may include research funding, employment, consultancy, financial relationships, personal relationships, institutional affiliations, or professional interests related to the research.
For health-related research, authors should disclose relevant relationships with pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, healthcare providers, sponsors, or other organizations whose interests may be affected by the research findings.
All sources of financial support and the role of funders in the research should be stated where applicable.
If no competing interests exist, authors must include the following statement in their manuscript:
“The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.”
Reviewers
Reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest before accepting a review assignment. Reviewers should decline to review a manuscript when financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships could compromise their impartiality.
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and must not use unpublished information obtained during peer review for personal, professional, or financial advantage.
Editors
Editors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest and must not handle manuscripts when their impartiality may reasonably be questioned. This includes manuscripts submitted by close collaborators, family members, or individuals with whom they have significant professional or personal relationships.
When a conflict exists, the manuscript must be assigned to an independent editor who can oversee the review and decision-making process objectively.
Manuscripts submitted by editors or editorial board members must undergo the same peer-review standards as other submissions and must not receive preferential treatment.
Management of Conflicts of Interest
The Editorial Team will evaluate disclosed conflicts of interest and determine appropriate measures, which may include requesting additional information, publishing a disclosure statement, appointing independent reviewers, or transferring editorial responsibility to an independent editor.
Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in further editorial action, including correction of the published record or other measures under the journal's publication ethics policies.
Editorial Independence
Publication decisions are based on the manuscript's scholarly quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, relevance, and peer-review outcomes. Financial interests, sponsorship, institutional relationships, or publication fees must not improperly influence editorial decisions.
Jurnal Kesehatan Yatsi Madani is committed to transparent disclosure and responsible management of conflicts of interest to protect research integrity and public trust in health sciences publishing.
